Kentucky Attorney General Greg Stumbo Announces Kentucky’s Most Wanted Child Support Evaders Are Being Apprehended
May 01, 2007 -- Kentucky Attorney General Greg Stumbo and Special Prosecutor for Bath County, Willie Roberts, today announced that Ronald Lee Ramey, one of Kentucky’s Most Wanted child support evaders, turned himself in to the Bath County Sheriff’s Office yesterday. He was arrested for Flagrant Non-support, a Class D felony. He owes his children more than $26,000 in back child support. Ramey remains in Montgomery County Detention Center in lieu of bond.
Ramey is the third child support evader to be apprehended in the 2006-2007 Kentucky Most Wanted Campaign. On April 19, 2007, Bruce Scott Herald, was apprehended by the Breathitt County Sheriff’s Department and Kentucky State Police. Herald owes his children more than $30,000. In June, 2006, Ronald Dean Keen was apprehended in Hardin County, Kentucky. His children were owed more than $25,000 in back child support.
Headed by the Kentucky Child Support Enforcement Commission, the Kentucky’s Most Wanted campaign targets parents who owe more than $10,000 and are unable to be located or are hiding out.
“I am proud that our Most Wanted Campaign has been so successful,” said Attorney General Stumbo. “By placing investigators in the field, my office works closely with prosecutors and law enforcement across the state to locate child support evaders.”
