Alaska Governor Reacts to FBI Arrests
May 4, 2007, Barrow, Alaska - Reached in Barrow today, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin released the following statement with regard to the FBI arrests:
“This is a sad day for Alaska, and I am sad with all of you. But understand there are so many good people and good Alaskans who want state government done right and they are voicing their strong opinions, too.
As your Governor, this Administration is committed to doing things right and this news just continues to reaffirm that this path must be corrected for the benefit of Alaska and all Alaskans. We are committed to doing it right and building the faith of this state.
As an example, that’s why we are so firm on a fair and open process on AGIA. As your Governor, I maintain my full commitment and promise to all Alaskans to remain ever vigilant on this day and always to work on behalf of Alaskans. We will continue to strive to be fair and transparent with not only our gasline, but in every decision we make for Alaskans.”
