Lindsay Lohan: Lindsay Lohan Faces Lawsuit

15 August 2007 -- Lindsay Lohan is being sued by a woman who was a passenger in a car the actress allegedly chased while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Filing the August 14 lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Tracie Rice said Lohan "put me through one of the most frightening experiences of my life."

The lawsuit alleges assault and negligence on Lohan's part, along with intentional infliction of emotional distress. It seeks unspecified damages and also payment of medical and other expenses related to emotional distress.

An e-mail sent to Lohan's publicist and a telephone message left for her attorney weren't immediately returned.

Lohan, 21, was arrested for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence and with a suspended license and felony cocaine possession following a July 24 predawn chase that ended in Santa Monica.

The lawsuit does not give a reason for the chase. However, two men who say they were unwilling passengers in the car driven by Lohan claim she was upset with her personal assistant, the daughter of Michelle Peck. Peck was driving the vehicle carrying Rice. Both women crashed through a barricade to escape the starlet. They then drove to a police station and leapt out of their vehicle, with Lohan in pursuit.

Lindsay Lohan is currently undergoing treatment in a Utah rehabilitation center.
