Alberto Gonzales: Arlen Specter Comments on the Resignation of Disgraced Attorney General Alberto Gonzales
August 27, 2007 -- Today, Senator Arlen Specter, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, made the following comments during a conference call regarding the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales:
“I commend Mr. Gonzales for placing the interests of the Department of Justice ahead of his own continued tenure, and now I look forward to the confirmation of a new Attorney General so that the Department of Justice can undertake its important responsibilities.”
