True Love Takes a Dark and Hairy Turn in the ABC Family Original Movie 'Nature of the Beast'
Premieres On Oct 21st As Part Of The “13 Nights of Halloween” Programming Event
Burbank, CA (September 17, 2007) – Boy meets girl. Boy asks girl to marry him. Boy tells girl he is a werewolf and they must hunt down the dreaded alpha wolf to cure him. No one said love was easy. One couple faces this terrifying scenario in the ABC Family original film NATURE OF THE BEAST, premiering on Sunday, October 21st (8:00 – 10:00 PM ET/PT) as part of ABC Family’s “13 Nights of Halloween” programming event. The love story with a frighteningly dark twist stars Eddie Kaye Thomas (“American Pie”), Autumn Reeser (“The O.C.”) and Eric Mabius (“Ugly Betty”).
Rich (Thomas) and Julia (Reeser) have finally found the perfect partner in each other and are preparing to make their way down the isle. As the wedding date approaches, Julia starts to notice Rich exhibiting some pretty odd behavior. With wild ideas about what he could be hiding from her, Julia is at wits end, but she is in no way prepared for the truth. Rich’s deep dark secret is that he is a werewolf. Not willing to accept his hairy curse, Julia decides that there must be a way to cure him and drags a reluctant Rich into the search for answers.
After some heavy research, squeezed in between a bridal shower and pre-marriage counseling, Rich thinks he has found the answer. They must hunt down and kill the werewolf that bit and infected him to break the curse. Rich is determined to make this up to his bride-to-be and heads back to his old college stomping grounds to track down the Alpha Wolf. His search brings him into contact with a lot of old faces from the past that may be able to help him. One such person is Donovan (Mabius), his former teacher, who knows much more about the attack than what he leads Rich to believe. Could Donovan be hiding a much darker secret from Rich that could make the wedding take a morbid turn?
NATURE OF THE BEAST was directed by Rodman Flender and was written by David Kendall & Bob Young. The movie was executive produced by Howard Braunstein, Michael Jaffe, Bob Young and David Kendall, and produced by Steve Solomos.
