Oklahoma Arts Council Recruits Artists for Rosters
Oct. 3, 2007, Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma Arts Council is currently recruiting applicants for the Oklahoma Touring and Teaching Artist rosters.
The Oklahoma Arts Council provides matching grants to help public schools, libraries, entities of local government, tribal governments and non-profit cultural organizations hire teaching and performing artists from throughout the state for performances and in-school residencies.
As a service to its constituents, the Oklahoma Arts Council also provides rosters of professional artists who wish to share their talent, experience and expertise with schools and communities throughout the state in order to strengthen the arts and arts education in Oklahoma.
Applicants to the Teaching Artist Roster should be able to show artistic and educational merit in their discipline and have a willingness to learn about and work with educational organizations across Oklahoma.
Applicants to the Oklahoma Touring Roster should have previous professional touring experience, good communication skills and a willingness to work in schools and communities statewide.
