California Governor Schwarzenegger On Senate Health Committee Hearing on Health Care Reform

01/23/2008 -- California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger issued the following statement in before the Senate Health Committee hearing on AB x1 1, the Health Care Security and Cost Reduction Act:

“The Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO) report validates the financial soundness of the plan. In addition, the LAO confirms there are triggers in place to protect the general fund.

“Californians are demanding health care reform. With health care costs spiraling at twice the rate of inflation, we cannot afford to wait any longer to address this issue.

“The legislature has been a great partner in comprehensive health care reform. I look forward to working with them and other members of our coalition to pass heath care reform. ”
