DoD Identifies Army Casualty: Pfc. Howard A. Jones, Jr., 35, of Chicago, Illinois
May 23, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pfc. Howard A. Jones, Jr., 35, of Chicago, Illinois, died May 18 in Chicago from injuries sustained when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while on leave from the Iraq theater of operations.
He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
