Tata Consultancy Services expands its presence in Mexico with the global delivery centre opening in Queretaro

June 18, 2009 -- Queretaro, Mexico and Mumbai, India: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: TCS.BO, NSE: TCS.N), a leading global IT services and consulting firm, today announced the opening of its third global delivery centre in Queretaro . This represents a key milestone in the company’s expansion across Latin America and its Global Network Delivery ModelTM, recognised as the benchmark of excellence in software development.

TCS expects to hire 500 professionals during the current financial year for its new centre in Queretaro. At the new global delivery Centre, TCS will provide advanced IT services, consultancy, test factory, business process outsourcing, contact centre, IT infrastructure solutions, industrial and engineering services, and solutions based on exclusive TCS products to existing and potential customers.

Since TCS established operations in Mexico in 2003, the company already serves more than 30 local clients in addition to international clients across various industries, including telecom, finance, banking, manufacture and retail.

During the opening ceremony, Ankur Prakash, director of TCS Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean said, “This new facility reinforces our global leadership position in Mexico and will help underpin the accelerated growth that we want to sustain in this country and region by delivering certainty of outcomes to our customers.” He added: “We remain committed to Mexico and we continue to invest in developing the skills of the IT professionals here and generating high quality employment in the industry, given our ability to retain and nurture talent.”

Government officials that attended the inaugural event included Queretaro´s governor Francisco Garrido Patrón, the major of the city of Queretaro Javier Vázquez Ibarra and executives from the region.

The new centre in Quererato, like all the global delivery centres of TCS in Mexico, is certified with the highest levels of quality and service. Moreover, TCS has an internal system IQMS, aligned to international standards ISO 9001, ISO 20000, ISO 27000, TL 9000, as well as the models CMMI level 5 and PCMM level.

The opening of the centre in Queretaro represents an important step ahead in the expansion plan of TCS in Latin America. This center is the third in the country after Mexico City and Guadalajara, Jalisco.

It is the seventh in Latin America where there are global delivery centres in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Mexico with a CMMI level 5, the highest quality standard in the industry, and operates a global service centre for the outsourcing business processes in Chile and Uruguay. In Mexico, TCS has commercial offices in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Queretaro.
