Parkinson: Enormous honor for the Governor
March 2, 2009 -- The following statement is from Kansas Lt. Governor Mark Parkinson:
“Today President Obama named Governor Sebelius as his nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services. It's an enormous honor for the Governor and reflects what we all know about her superb abilities and accomplishments in moving Kansas forward. As hard as it will be to send our Governor to Washington, I know she will do incredible work serving our country in the President’s Cabinet.
“Our intent is that the Governor will remain in office until she is confirmed. In the interim, I will continue to be focused on the budget and other issues facing our Great State. We know that Kansans are facing the most challenging economy in our lifetimes. Our commitment is to continue to do everything we can to move our state forward.”
