Federal Tax Returns from Seven States Go to Different Centers
Feb. 7, 2008, WASHINGTON — As some taxpayers begin to prepare their paper tax returns, the Internal Revenue Service notes that some may be sending their returns to a different service center than last year. Those who received a tax instruction booklet from the IRS in the mail and use the labels included with the booklet can be assured that their tax returns will go to the correct address. Federal Response Continues for States Impacted by Recent Storms and Tornadoes
February 11, 2008 -- The Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will continue to support the states impacted by the severe storms and tornadoes.

Kentucky Attorney General Conway Announces Settlement With Merck
February 07, 2008 -- Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway today announced that the Commonwealth of Kentucky will receive more than $1.4 million as part of two separate global settlements totaling $649 million with Merck & Co., Inc. The settlements involve 49 states, the District of Columbia and the federal government. Merck is the manufacturer of the drugs Zocor, Vioxx, and Pepcid. » read more »

February 06, 2008 -- Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway today provided information to consumers who were victims of last night’s tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. Seven people in Kentucky lost their lives in the storms. SGT Tracy Renee Birkman, 41, of New Castle Virginia, died Jan. 25 in Owesat, Iraq, from non-combat related njuries. She was assigned to the 626th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division from Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
