November 29, 2007 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. 1st Class John J. Tobiason, 42, of Bloomington, Minnesota, died Nov. 28 in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries suffered from an incident that is currently under investigation.
He was assigned to the 847th Adjutant General Battalion, 89th Regional Readiness Command, Wichita, Kan.

Pilot project stems from environmental health tracking and biomonitoring legislation
November 19, 2007 -- The Minnesota Department of Health is proposing a biomonitoring pilot project to measure arsenic levels in 100 children who live near the CMC Heartland Site in south Minneapolis. Arsenic-containing pesticides were manufactured and stored at the site between 1938 and 1963. The site is an approximately five-acre triangular lot between 28th Street and Hiawatha Avenue on the south and east and railroad tracks and a warehouse to the west. » read more »
