DoD Identifies Army Casualty: Staff Sgt. Chad A. Barrett, 35, of Saltville, Virginia

February 04, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Staff Sgt. Chad A. Barrett, 35, of Saltville, Virginia, died Feb. 2 in Mosul, Iraq, as a result of a non-combat related incident.

He was assigned to the 64th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo. The incident is under investigation.

DoD Identifies Three Army Casualties: Danny L. Kimme, David H. Sharrett II and John P. Sigsbee

January 17, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of three soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

They died Jan. 16 of wounds suffered in Balad, Iraq, when they were attacked by grenade and small arms fire during combat operations.

They were assigned to the 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

Killed were:
