Raytheon Awarded $217 Million Navy Contract for Volume Search Radar for Zumwalt and CVN 78

TEWKSBURY, Mass., June 8, 2009 -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) was awarded a $217 million U.S. Navy contract for two Volume Search Radar (VSR) arrays for the Zumwalt-class destroyer program and the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78).

NASA Extends Contract with Russian Federal Space Agency

May 28, 2009 -- WASHINGTON -- NASA has signed a $306 million modification to the current International Space Station contract with the Russian Federal Space Agency for crew transportation and related services in 2012 and 2013.

The firm-fixed price modification covers comprehensive Soyuz support, including all necessary training and preparation for launch, crew rescue, and landing of a long-duration mission for six individual station crew members.

Space station crew members will launch on four Soyuz vehicles: two in spring 2012 and two in fall 2012. Their landings are scheduled for fall 2012 and spring 2013, respectively. The contract modification also provides for crew post-flight rehabilitation, medical exams and services.    » read more »

Raytheon to Retrofit US Navy Super Hornets With AESA Radars

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 26, 2009 -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a $54 million U.S. Navy contract to retrofit Super Hornet block II aircraft with APG-79 active electronically scanned array radars.

The award by the Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., calls for APG-79 AESA radars to be retrofitted into lots 26 to 29 of the F/A-18E/F aircraft. The units will replace the APG-73 radars currently installed in the aircraft, ensuring that pilots and aircrews are equipped with the most advanced technology available.    » read more »

Raytheon Team Picks Up US Army Battle Command Development Contract

FORT MONMOUTH, N.J., May 26, 2009 -- A team led by Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) received an indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity award for the U.S. Army Battle Command Development contract.

The Battle Command Development contract, managed by the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, is a five-year, multi-award vehicle worth up to $777.4 million.

The award enables the Raytheon team to compete for task orders that will enhance and maintain the capabilities of the Army Battle Command System. The ABCS consists of products that have been developed by battle command organizations. These products are used throughout theater and lack commonality.    » read more »

Raytheon Signs $259.9 Million Phalanx Close-In Weapon System Contract With U.S. Navy

LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 19, 2009 -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) is being awarded a $259.9 million U.S. Navy contract to overhaul and upgrade 57 Phalanx Close-In Weapon Systems and to provide ancillary equipment, spares, as well as additional technical support.

The agreement calls for 40 sea-based Phalanx systems and 17 Centurion Land-Based Phalanx Weapon Systems.

"The capability of our world-class Ku-band radar coupled with Phalanx's thermal imager provides unparalleled self-defense protection," said Todd Callahan, Raytheon's Close-In Defense Solutions program director. Under the Defense Information System Network Transmission Services - Pacific II (DTS-P II) contract, Verizon Business will provide telecommunications services at military installations and other government sites located in the Asia-Pacific region, Canada, the Caribbean, Central America and South America, the Middle East and the United States. Washington Gov. Gregoire And WSDOT Announces First Advertisements For Transportation Contracts In Kittitas, Pacific Counties

March 9, 2009 -- OLYMPIA - Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire along with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) today announced Washington’s first state highway construction “Washington Jobs Now” projects funded by the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (AARA) were advertised to contractors.

The WSDOT advertised three contracts worth nearly $9 million this week that will ensure the continued availability of Interstate 90 as a safe and reliable cross-state corridor and will preserve US 101 and SR 103 in Pacific County.

NASA Awards Contract for Constellation Spacesuit for the Moon

Feb. 27, 2009 -- WASHINGTON -- NASA has awarded an interim letter contract to Oceaneering International Inc. of Houston to begin work on the design, development and production of a new spacesuit system for the Constellation Program. The system will protect astronauts during voyages to the International Space Station and exploration of the moon's surface.

The letter contract requires Oceaneering International to begin work on the basic period of performance while NASA and the company negotiate the contract's final terms. The current award amount for the performance of the letter contract is limited to $9.6 million. It will become effective March 2 and be in effect until the full contract is defined, no later than Aug. 29, 2009.    » read more »

NASA Awards Rotorcraft Technology Development Contract

Feb. 25, 2009 -- WASHINGTON -- NASA has selected three companies to receive a subsonic rotary wing technology development contract valued at $40 million. The companies sharing the award are Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. of Hurst, Texas; The Boeing Company of Chicago; and Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. of Stratford, Conn.

This is a cost plus fixed fee, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with a five-year period of performance beginning Feb. 25, 2009.

The work will be performed for NASA's Subsonic Rotary Wing Project, which the Fundamental Aeronautics Program of NASA's Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate in Washington funds and manages.    » read more »
