This contract is for the purchase of launch services using Delta IV heavy and medium launch vehicles under the Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle program for launch of the National Reconnaissance Office mission’s 32, 27 and 49 missions. LPD stands for Landing Platform Dock, although the ship is usually referred to as an amphibious transport dock.
