ANNAPOLIS, MD (November 13, 2009) – Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley issued the second in a series of online H1N1 (Swine) Flu web updates on H1N1 (Swine) Flu today, including a status update on the spread of the disease and an update on the seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccines. Mid-Atlantic Governors Commit To Offshore Wind Partnership

November 10, 2009 -- ANNAPOLIS, MD – Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley of Maryland, Governor Tim Kaine of Virginia and Governor Jack Markell of Delaware agreed today on a tri-state partnership for the deployment of off shore wind energy in the Mid-Atlantic coastal region. CSX Becomes First Transportation Provider to Join Maryland Green Registry

CAMBRIDGE, MD -- November 5, 2009 – CSX today was recognized as the first transportation provider to join the Maryland Green Registry, a voluntary self-certification program that promotes and recognizes sustainable practices by organizations throughout the state.

The Maryland Green Registry includes organizations that complete a best practices profile covering environmental management and leadership, waste reduction, energy and water conservation, transportation, and green building design. Mikulski, Cardin: Maryland Organizations to Receive $185 Million in New Markets Tax Credits

Credits will inject capital and credit into underserved Maryland communities

30-Oct-2009 -- WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Barbara A. Mikulski and Benjamin L. Cardin (both D-Md.), today announced six Maryland organizations have been awarded New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC)’s totaling $185 million as part of a $5 billion total investment in NMTCs across the nation. Mikulski, Cardin: $72 Million in Funding to Clean Up Maryland's Drinking Water

Appropriations Bill Also Includes an Additional $50 million for the Bay

29-Oct-2009 -- WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Barbara A. Mikulski and Benjamin L. Cardin (both D-MD) today praised final Congressional passage of the Interior-Environment Appropriations Conference Report, which will provide $72 million in new funding to improve Maryland’s drinking water systems and to help communities finance local sewer improvements.

The bill also includes $50 million, the largest funding level ever, for programs to control urban, suburban and agricultural runoff in the Chesapeake watershed. The Conference Report – which also includes a Continuing Resolution to fund much of the federal government through December 18 – now goes to the President who is expected to sign it.    » read more »

The data reports that Maryland contractors have been awarded a total of $590 million and have directly saved or created approximately 965 private sector jobs. $15 Million for U.S. Army Corps Eastern Shore Projects, Bay Priorities

16-Oct-2009 -- WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced Senate passage of the 2010 Energy and Water Development Conference Report. The bill includes more than $15 million for Eastern Shore priorities. It now heads to the President to be signed into law.

Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley Announces Tax Amnesty Holiday

DUNDALK, MD (August 31, 2009) – Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, joined today by Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown, Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr., House Speaker Michael E. Busch, Ronald Wineholt of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and others to announce Maryland’s first tax amnesty holiday since 2001.
