July 12, 2007 -- Chicago - Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan warned Illinois consumers today of possibly counterfeit toothpaste that has made its way to Illinois store shelves. The counterfeit product, falsely labeled as “Colgate,” may not contain fluoride and may contain diethylene glycol (DEG), a chemical used in anti-freeze that can cause serious health risks including liver and kidney damage and death. » read more »

Michigan Safety Belt Use Remains High, Steady
Michigan's safety belt use rate remains relatively unchanged at 94 percent. Wayne State University's Transportation Research Group conducted the direct observation survey in the late spring, in conjunction with the annual statewide safety belt mobilization.
