Chapel Hill, North Carolina – Senator John Edwards released the following statement following today's comments by President Bush expressing confidence in Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Edwards first called for Gonzales to resign on March 13th, 2007.

Republican Senator Arlen Specter Says Gonzales May Resign Before Confidence Vote

20 May 2007 -- The top Republican senator on the committee investigating U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales says he believes Gonzales might step down before a no-confidence vote planned this week by opposition Democrats.

In a television interview Sunday, Senator Arlen Specter said he expects a number of Republicans will join the Democrats in a "very substantial" vote against Gonzales, if the measure comes to the Senate floor.

Washington, May 9, 2007 - The World Bank Executive Directors met today to consider a request from World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz for additional time to comment on the draft report of the ad hoc group, which was provided to him on May 6. DNC: RNC = Really Not Complying

April 25, 2007 -- Today, the RNC issued a press release indicating that they would not comply with requests made by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for materials relating to the possibly illegal use of RNC emails by White House staff members.
