Predator Crashes In Iraq
12/17/2007 - BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq (AFPN) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials announced an MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicle crashed at approximately 1:30 p.m. local time Dec. 17 near Al Muqdadiya in Iraq.
The aircraft is a medium-altitude, long-endurance, remotely piloted aircraft.
The Predator's primary mission is conducting armed reconnaissance.
A board of Air Force officials will convene to investigate the incident.

December 12, 2007 -- This week the Air Force, Army and Navy announced a decrease, while the Marine Corps announced an increase. The Coast Guard number remained unchanged. The net collective result is 837 more reservists mobilized than last week. » read more »
AFPC Announces Civilian Personnel Services Transformation
12/11/2007 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- Civilian personnel services are transforming at the Air Force Personnel Center to ensure speed of personnel actions and enhanced self-service capabilities.
"Overall the transformation is designed to improve the efficiency of delivering personnel services," said Charles Huerta, the AFPC Personnel Services Directorate deputy.
PSD transformation will have four major accomplishments. First, it will redesign personnel service processes to eliminate unnecessary steps and approvals to speed up work and reduce workload. » read more »

12/11/2007 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- The 2007A line of the Air Force, biomedical sciences corps, nurse corps and medical service corps central selection board selected 2,535 captains for promotion.
The complete select list is available on the Air Force Personnel Center public Web site.
The board considered 3,138 captains for promotion. The results of the board are as follows:
